**What you’ll do**

The Underwriting Support position assists with the marketing, servicing and renewal of accounts. This position will provide support to Sales, Clients Services, Renewal Underwriting and Reporting Staff.

**In this role, you’ll also**:

- Process and coordinate renewal RFPs with reinsurance carriers
- Assist the sales team with benefit plan designs, new business proposals, and utilization reports
- Work with internal service areas such as Client Services and Reporting Department to provide customer service solutions
- Maintain current knowledge of Health Plans, Inc. products, benefits, systems, health care industry, stop loss terms and contracts, legislation etc. through training and staff meetings
- Prepare historical analysis for sales team client/broker meetings
- Maintain and manage all data for prospects and renewals
- Assists the sales/renewals teams with stop loss negotiations
- Provide electronic/telephonic follow up to brokers on open prospects
- Assist renewal team to obtain and evaluate clinical data requests, this includes working with the reporting department for stop loss renewals & sending out spreadsheets to stop loss carriers
- Perform other duties as assigned

- A High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Prior experience working in a business environment
- Ability to multitask effectively and accurately
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Work well independently and as a member of the team
- Ability to analyze problems, situations and financial information
- Ability to recognize the need for follow-thru and follow-up
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
