Overview:
**Join the HJF Team**
HJF is seeking a **Proposal Specialist II-Portfolios** to oversee the administration and technical support for pre-award proposal development efforts in close coordination with external clients (Principal Investigators) and internal stakeholders (Business Development). May also lead post-offer management of award wins.
This position will be in support of the USU/WRNMMC Department of Surgery in Bethesda, MD.
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing, and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
**Responsibilities**:
- Generate high quality and compliant proposal content. Gather documents and manage due dates. Maintain checklists of all documents and their statuses. Provide guidance on and implement standard procedures.
- Develop schedules and coordinate actions with all relevant external (e.g., Principal Investigators) & internal (e.g., Program Management, Business Development, and Research Administration) stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business development staff and principal investigators to determine Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
- Support award negotiations through award hand-off to post award.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Qualifications:
**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience required.
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Strong writing skills.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Creative thinking and the ability to multi-task.
- Commitment to on-going professional development.
- Comfort engaging with key stakeholders for input and guidance.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.
**Work Environment**
- This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
**Some positions or sites may require that the incumbent be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination may be required.**
