**JOB SUMMARY**

The Transportation Equity and Inclusion Division, in the Office of the Director, is responsible for administering compliance programs and policies related to civil rights, small business inclusion, accessibility/disability rights, senior affairs, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) for the District Department of Transportation (DDOT). This position is located in the Transportation Equity and Inclusion Division and administers, oversees and provides guidance to DDOT leadership on the Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) programs; and the local Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) programs for compliance with Federal and local regulations and laws; manages personnel responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and reporting functions for DDOT’s Federal DBE/SBE and local CBE/SBE programs; as well as coordinating and interfacing with DDOT’s Equity and Accessibility team that administers DDOT’s EEO, Title VI, Title VII and ADA programs. The Deputy Compliance Officer position reports to the Equity and Inclusion Officer and has the responsibility for ensuring the propriety, integrity and compliance of DDOT’s Federal and local small business programs.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES**

Works collaboratively with the Supervisory Compliance Officer to monitor operations, evaluate progress, and identify problems and trends. Incumbent assesses the findings and determines the impact if any. Evaluates and assesses the overall viability of proposed solutions and identifies the resources necessary to effectively provide adequate solutions. Provides insight and technical decisions with regard to program direction and making necessary adjustments to plans and milestones within tasks so as to optimize productivity.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION**

Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position and has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, at least one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.

**LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS**

The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

**WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT**

The work is performed generally in an office setting, with the exception of visits to worksites; and involves the everyday risks and discomforts of the workplace and normal safety precautions.
