Responsibilities and Duties:

- Develop policies/procedures and promote their implementation to improve day-to-day operations
- Improve client satisfaction through policy and procedural changes
- Establish metrics, guidelines and standards by with the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated. Identify opportunities for improvement
- Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
- Interact with staff, contractors, vendors and trade partners
- Participate in the hiring and training of staff
- Supervise staff in multiple departments and identify areas for improvement
- Establish performance and reporting systems
- Collaborate closely with and provide supervision to project managers while overseeing ongoing capital projects and renovations of multifamily projects with ensure compliance with contract documents and regulations
- Conduct site visits and inspect project progress to ensure timely completion, consistent quality and adherence to budget
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities while maintaining client relationships to drive the company’s growth and profitability
- Set goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements and Skills:

- Proven experience as a Director of operations or equivalent position
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and managerial abilities
- Previous experience in the construction and/or property management industry is a plus, but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to confidently present to owners and clients
- Experience in budget development
- Strong work ethic with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, prioritize, and make decisions in a fast paced setting
- Ability for occasional travel
- This position will work from our office in Alexandria, VA
