**Purpose**:

- Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a **Deck Machinery-Engineering Technician Support **who will be key in providing technical support to MARMC C250.
- **Located in Norfolk, VA**
- Support by demonstrating working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, ship visit procedures, and post-visit reporting methods.
- Execute all duties with mechanical operation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and assessment of US Navy Auxiliary equipment:

- Sliding Pad Eyes
- Boat Davits
- Cranes
- Capstans
- Antenna Tilting Groups
- Chocks
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Specialized experience shall be demonstrated in troubleshooting and assessment of US Navy Deck Equipment, in the official capacity of a SME for either US Navy Engineering Activity, OEM, or industrial/commercial activity.
- Assist in creating proper techniques for identifying causes of equipment casualties.

**Qualifications**:

- Must have a High School Diploma and at least 7 years in related experience.
- Must have at least 7 years of related experience troubleshooting, assessing, and inspecting shipboard systems and equipment.
- Must have recent experience (within two years) maintaining and operating the systems.
- Must have ability the ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, and piping drawings.
- Must possess the ability to review, update, and close assigned jobs in the prescribed government database.

**Security Requirements**:

- Must have an Active Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain one.

**Travel Requirements**:

- Occasional travel
- less than 10%

**Physical Requirements**:

- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Require moving objects up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
- Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.
