Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our vessel operations and maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all engineering equipment on our vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal vessel performance
  • Oversee the installation and integration of new equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Manage and maintain a team of engineers and technicians to perform routine and emergency maintenance
  • Collaborate with the Vessel Team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Develop and implement procedures for emergency response and damage control
  • Manage and maintain a budget for maintenance and repair activities
  • Develop and implement plans for the launch and recovery of assets from the vessel
  • Ensure the maintenance of all shipboard auxiliary systems, including ground tackle, deck equipment, and boat launch/recovery systems
  • Manage and maintain a team of engineers and technicians to perform routine and emergency maintenance
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Navy maritime research and development programs
  • Significant experience in high-speed, diesel-powered platforms
  • Strong deck plate electrical background and proven performance in marine platforms
  • Significant experience in maintaining/repairing carbon fiber hulls
  • Experience in integration, fabrication, and repair
  • Experience with vessel dry-docking
  • Recent installation experience of newer maritime technologies that may have application to military missions
  • Recent experience in launch and recovery of unmanned systems and their operations from a maritime platform
  • DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Navy maritime research and development programs
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
