Job Overview

Prevailance is seeking a seasoned professional to support the Surface Warfare Engineering Schools Command (SWESC) and PMS 339 Specialized Engineering as a Machinery Repairman Contractor Instructor. This role involves providing instruction, operation, testing, remediation, curriculum support, administration, safety, and management support services for formalized naval training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare classrooms, workstations, and labs for instruction, ensuring equipment is set up and instructional materials are available.
  • Perform operational checks on training equipment, devices, and aids, noting deficiencies and submitting recommendations to the Technical Advisor and Contracting Officer's Representative.
  • Maintain an inventory of instructional materials and student forms, reporting discrepancies to SWSC/PMS 339/SLC Formal Course Review.
Requirements
  • A graduate of the Navy Instructor Training Course (CIN: A NEC 9502) or equivalent instructor training course.
  • A minimum of three years of technical experience in the subject matter and two years of experience in a Military Training Environment.
  • Knowledge of learning principles, practices, and methods of presentation and delivery of course content, testing, and remediation procedures, curriculum, training aids, devices, electronic podiums, TTE, lab equipment, and equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Former Senior (E5 – E9) Surface Ship Machinery Repairman (MR).
  • Comprehensive knowledge in the area of safety, operation, and maintenance of heavy machinery tooling shipboard, precision grinding/advanced milling tools, and techniques.
  • Qualified to teach NETC courses (aka the MR Pipeline): Precision Grinding, Heavy Machinery Operator, and Advanced Milling.
