What You Will Do
- The anticipated start date for this position is July 8th. You will report to the Director of People & Culture. Your core responsibilities will be:
- HR Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including electronic personnel files and benefits information. Conduct background checks and employee verifications. Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits. Assist employees with benefit inquiries and enrollment processes. Supports payroll processing and employment verification inquiries. Facilitate employee access to personnel and payroll records, including W2 distribution.
- HRIS Management: Utilize the organization’s HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and talent management systems to manage employee data, generate reports, and streamline HR processes.
- Americorps Program Support: Partner with program staff to maintain electronic records and payments issued to seasonal Americorps participants. Assist with the annual onboarding of Americorps members and provide continuous support during the program year.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Coordinate recruitment efforts through the administration of our Applicant Tracking System, and provide support during the job description development and posting process. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including tracking pre-hire communications, supporting orientation and training sessions, and facilitating the multi-month IJ Foundations onboarding course for new employees.
- Policy Development and Compliance: Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Stay informed about changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Support required compliance reporting related to benefits and payroll administration. Examples include: 1095-C reporting, annual worker’s compensation audit, ad hoc benefits claim verification requests, and other requests as needed.
- HR Metrics and Reporting: Compile and analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends, assess organizational effectiveness, and identify trends to support informed decision-making.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Education / Experience Level**Required Qualifications**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to maintain data and records with accuracy.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems, including data entry and systems administration functions.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Google/Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- **_SHRM-CP certification preferred_**
- Strong work ethic and ability to interface among teams, and collaborate with internal stakeholders, and partners when applicable.
- Knowledgeable about learning new HRIS systems and system administration.
