**JOB SUMMARY**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a positive attitude and perform each duty satisfactorily. Exercise principles for accurate and timely payroll processing including hours worked, rates of pay, tax elections, withholding orders, deductions, direct deposit and able to oversee financial aspect of benefit plans for multi-state and multi-company. Provide excellent and patient customer service to employees, work with all levels of employees and provide required information in a timely and appropriate fashion.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensures the timely processing of payroll to include benefit reconciliations, garnishment payments, annual W2 reconciliations and submissions, monthly wage balancing to the general ledger, budget reconciliations, and maintenance of software setup for benefit and payroll liabilities, deductions, and employee earnings.
- Performs other high-level payroll tasks including annual audits such as 401K testing and compliance audits; Worker’s Compensation insurance audits; and State and Local PR tax audits.
- Must be able to processes and report the monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll taxes.
- Timely troubleshoots payroll issues as they arise.
- Oversees employee set up in payroll system for deductions and liabilities and ensures payroll is processed timely and accurate.
- Manages the processing and reviews, monthly, quarterly, and annual state and federal payroll taxes for Tencate and all related companies.
- Works with payroll provider and ensures annual 1095 and W2 reconciliation is accurate and submitted timely for all companies.
- Researches states/localities as needed and ensure all companies are in compliance with tax registration and reporting in the states/localities where business is conducted.
- Benefits Accounting: Ensures proper setup of benefit codes in the system in agreement with employee benefit elections. Manages monthly account reconciliation to ensure benefit accounting is complete and accurate.
- Review all invoices for benefit premiums to ensure agreement to employee benefit elections and contracted rates on a monthly basis.
- Performs all state and local payroll tax audits as they arise as well as other audit/reporting related to payroll and HR.
- Assists in annual internal audit for payroll and benefit requests.
- Assist in the compilation of budgets surrounding salaries and benefits and perform regular reconciliations to ensure costs are tracked in accordance with those budgets.

**REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS**
Reports to: Director of Human Resources

**OTHER SPECIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION**
- Manages the software for payroll and benefits processing, including training of authorized users
- Maintains financial account reconciliation, tracking, and coding of insurance premiums and claims
- Serve as the primary liaison with third parties for payroll tax and benefit audits including government entities, 401k, workers’ comp, etc.
- Will work other special projects to include periodic audits of Accounting and Payroll processes

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Excellent knowledge and skills in general accounting including reconciliations of tax, benefit and payroll related general ledger accounts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Must have an exceptional understanding of current payroll and state tax laws for multiple states
- Ability to multi-task Excellent computer skills using, ERP Systems, MS Office, above average skills working in MS Excel, superior knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax filing
- 3-5 years payroll experience preferred
- Extensive knowledge of benefits, payroll, and 401(k) plans
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Experience with Paycor Payroll Processing Preferred
