Department: Corporate Services/Human Resources


Purpose: To provide overall support to the HR department including, but not limited to, all aspects of human resources administration, benefit administration, budget and account analysis, and timely payroll processing using excellent customer service and communication with all employees.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of applicable accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of current payroll tax and HR laws.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Human resources and benefits experience.
  • PHR or SHRM HR certification.
  • Experience in HR information systems, related to budgeting, general accounting, and payroll taxes.
  • Experience in HR benefit systems and Microsoft applications including but not limited to Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience in compensation benchmarking, benefit administration, and compliance.
  • Experience in HR and benefit administration, including but not limited to personnel file management and data analysis.

 

 

 Job Functions:

  • Maintain positive working relationship with all employees to support company policies while improving employee interest, ownership, and goodwill. Recommend policy and procedure improvements that enhance the culture.
  • Ensure the timely processing of payroll to include benefit reconciliations, annual W2 reconciliations and submissions, monthly wage balancing to the general ledger, budget reconciliations, and maintenance of software setup for benefit and payroll liabilities, deductions, and employee earnings.
  • Must be able to process and report the monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll taxes.
  • Benefits Accounting: Ensure proper setup of benefit codes in the system in agreement with employee benefit elections. Manage monthly account reconciliation to ensure benefit accounting is complete and accurate.
  • Develop, optimize, document, and standardize sustainable human resources processes, and share best practices.
  • Partner with the management team and employees concerning benefits, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform analysis of data and collect information for monthly organizational reporting.
  • Work closely with all human resources’ vendors and establish new relationships as needed.
  • Work closely with the company’s benefit brokerage team and financial partners to assist and administer the company’s benefit programs.
    • Participate in the annual open enrollment process.
    • Provide support regarding evaluation and administration of 401(k) benefits, LTD, life  insurance, and elective insurance options.
    • Ensure all required notices and documents are issued timely and accurately.
    • Review benefit billing and accounts for accuracy and prepare documentation for A/P processing.
  • Support and perform all year-end processes.
  • Support and communicate with team members regarding assigned projects and reports.
  • Prepare reconciling entries for journal adjustments to general ledger.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget.
  • Assist with budget to actual variance research, analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all documentation and information.
  • Support other high-level payroll tasks including annual audits such as 401K testing and compliance audits.
  • Assist with and provide information requested for the annual fiscal audit.
  • Perform offboarding processes and maintenance in payroll, benefit and HRIS systems.
  • Serve as a back-up resource for other areas within the human resources areas.
