**Job Summary**:
The Director of Intercultural Programs is responsible for ensuring the vibrancy and effectiveness of EMU's intercultural programs. This includes evaluating the programs, assessing student outcomes, and providing training and development for faculty leaders. The Director will oversee both on-campus and off-campus intercultural programs and individual courses for undergraduate and graduate students, working closely with various university stakeholders to promote and implement these programs. The role will focus on the critical areas of program evaluation, student outcome assessment, and faculty development, ensuring that our intercultural programs continue to thrive and meet the needs of our diverse student body

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Oversee and conduct thorough evaluations of both on-campus and off-campus intercultural programs.
- Collect and analyze data on student participation, satisfaction, and learning outcomes.
- Implement improvements based on evaluation findings to enhance program quality and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement assessment tools to measure student outcomes related to intercultural competencies.
- Monitor and report on student progress and achievements in intercultural learning.
- Use assessment results to inform program development and instructional strategies.
- Design and deliver training programs for faculty leaders of intercultural courses.
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities focused on intercultural teaching and learning.
- Support faculty in creating and refining syllabi, course materials, and program budgets that reflect intercultural goals.
- Support faculty while on intercultural trips and serve as primary point of contact
- Monitor student numbers, demographics, and interests to make informed decisions about future intercultural programs.
- Chair Intercultural committee meetings and ensure agendas are strategically created and outcomes driven
- Manage the EMU Intercultural budget, ensuring alignment with institutional financial goals.
- Maintain and update web-based and print materials for undergraduate intercultural programs.
- Collaborate with Washington Community Scholars’ Center, Intensive English Program, Office of DEI, Multicultural Services, Student Life and International Student Services to strengthen program offerings and support.
- Ensure safety and risk management policies are up-to-date and effectively communicated to all program leaders.
- Support leaders in implementing risk management practices, including pre-departure documentation and health screenings.
- Handle crisis management with sensitivity and efficiency.
- Teach 3 SH annually
- courses specific to cross cultural/intercultural curriculum
- Foster relationships with sister Anabaptist colleges and universities for increased collaboration.
- Provide accurate and timely information to students, faculty, and other stakeholders about intercultural programs.
- Participate as a collaborative team member in the Provost’s office and with EMU Deans to ensure smooth functioning across departments.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Provost.

**Education and Experience**:
