Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Associate Director of the Office of Disability Services at James Madison University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and support to students with disabilities, as well as collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure equal access to education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance and oversight to staff members, ensuring the effective delivery of disability services and accommodations.
  • Student Support: Conduct individualized assessments and provide direct services to students with disabilities, including registration for services, prompt response to student requests, and identification and development of appropriate academic accommodations.
  • Collaboration and Outreach: Foster partnerships with faculty and staff to ensure equal access to education, and provide professional consultations and presentations to the campus community.
  • Systems and Data Management: Support the effective operation of disability services systems, including data management and reporting.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and supervision to staff members, and contribute to the development of assessment efforts and programming initiatives.
Requirements
  • Experience: Considerable experience in disability services or a related field, with a record of leadership and collaboration.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field, with a master's degree preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
