**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
The Director of Contracts & Procurement at Phoenix Defense will oversee procurement, subcontracting activities, and prime contract management across all group companies at the corporate level. This role involves ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR). Reporting to the CFO, the Director will centrally manage procurement, subcontracting, and contract activities across both Manufacturing and Engineering Services Divisions.
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor, and vendor acquisition activities.
- Develop and implement procurement policies, ensuring standardized processes across multiple divisions.
- Create and execute strategic procurement policies to improve vendor costs.
- Manage prime contracts, working closely with program managers and customer contract representatives.
- Participate in and support proposal activities related to contracts.
- Provide proposal support related to subcontract development, subcontractor/vendor pricing, and cost/price volume analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal regulations and company policies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and subcontractors.
- Monitor and assess procurement and subcontracting performance, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Ensure continuous improvement in procurement processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry trends and changes in regulations affecting procurement and contracting.
- Lead negotiations with vendors and subcontractors to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Develop risk management strategies for procurement activities to mitigate potential issues
**ABOUT YOU**:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required.
- 10 - 15 years of experience in procurement, experience within the aerospace and GovCon industry is highly desired.
- Extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic procurement policies.
- Proven ability to work effectively at an executive level with senior leadership teams.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including developing and interpreting complex pricing models.
- Working knowledge of FARs and DFARs.
- Ability to travel approximately 10%, primarily between Phoenix, AZ, and Orlando, FL.
