Partnering with department research leaders, the development director, and the director of the Steele Children's Research Center, this position leads, facilitates, and directs special projects from beginning to end. Projects include renovation of labs and office spaces, clinical research program implementation, philanthropic grant writing and follow-up, philanthropic proposals and implementation, and other projects as needed on an ad hoc basis.

The department's faculty takes care of thousands of sick children in Southern Arizona and around the state, providing general pediatric and subspecialty services and hold specialty clinics in rural areas throughout Arizona. Our faculty teach medical students through our clerkship program, and each year, 16 young doctors come to the UArizona as pediatric residents. Finally, our faculty physician-scientists and researchers are improving children's health through the UArizona Steele Children's Research Center, the research arm of the department.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Implement existing grant/gift commitments (i.e., to facilitate clinical studies enrollment related to whole genome sequencing), work with researchers to procure and compile whole genome sequencing collection kits, initiate outreach to physicians in communities across Arizona, create informational materials), and ensure that research is being conducted as committed to donors and foundations.
- Act as the point person for follow through on future commitments.
- Supervise the processing of invoices and day-to-day monitoring of budgets related to the grant.
- Foster relationships with Center investigators to understand areas of expertise and desired growth.
- Liaise with members of the development team (including UA Foundation Relations) and communication team (including COM-T communications) to include faculty, as well as COM-T and UAF leadership, to raise the profile and awareness of the work of Center researchers thereby enhancing philanthropic and grant opportunities for researchers.
- Compile, write, and submit budgets and all annual reporting documents for funded projects.
- Partner with department research leaders, the development director, and the Director of the Steele Children's Research Center to develop and execute projects aligned with the leaders' vision. These projects include renovation of laboratory floors, offices, and storage spaces, creating and maintaining public donor recognition, and participating in departmental space management.
- Create and manage budgets and timelines, build relationships across departments, ensure that future commitments to donors are kept, and serve as the point person for decisions and implementation.
