Position Overview: The Tucson Auto Museum, a dedicated non-profit organization focused on the conservation and exhibition of exceptional classic automobiles from across the globe, is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer. This pivotal role will involve providing visionary and entrepreneurial leadership to elevate the museum's mission and operations. As we embark on a transformative journey to a new facility, this position offers a unique chance to drive meaningful advancements in our community engagement and programmatic offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizational Leadership & Management: Actively recruit, inspire, and mobilize volunteers, Board members, and community partners.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and processes with the Board of Directors to enhance engagement.
  • Ensure all staff and volunteers have clearly defined roles to support operational efficiency and budget adherence.
  • Regularly assess and enhance program components, tracking revenue and metrics for reporting purposes.
  • Supervise, motivate, and evaluate staff, aligning structure with organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with the Board and staff to ensure robust financial and administrative practices are in place.

Financial Management: Prepare and present the annual budget for Board approval, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and reserves.

Grant Writing & Fund Development: Create a comprehensive grant writing strategy, including tracking past and upcoming funding opportunities.

Program and Exhibit Development: Curate and install new exhibits in collaboration with staff and volunteers, while also developing educational programs that showcase the museum's unique collections.

Public and Community Relations: Oversee marketing and communication strategies to enhance the museum's visibility and engagement within the community.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven fundraising experience and a strong understanding of non-profit business practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong management skills to coordinate operations and work closely with the Board of Directors.
