Thriving communities. A healthy environment. A brighter future. What we do is more than infrastructure; we work every day to make the world better for everyone. If you want to join a company invested in you, your success, and the global community, join us as an Engineering Design Manager. This role will align to one of our Northwest geography locations and may support hybrid/remote working arrangements. If you are looking for a rewarding and stable career with an established firm that provides opportunities for growth and advancement, this is the place for you

As an Engineering Design Manager (DM), you’ll collaborate with others as a leader/manager responsible for the technical production and delivery of infrastructure design documents. Your focus will be on client satisfaction, managing design delivery resources, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The DM's primary responsibility is to ensure that all aspects of an assigned design delivery project are completed successfully, on time, on budget, and consistent with contractual requirements.

The DM achieves success by supporting, listening to, collaborating with, and managing the design team (including design team staff, and subconsultants/subcontractors). The DM is a participant with Project Managers and the broader design team in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling, and performance. Additionally, the DM is responsible for monitoring and control of the design scope, the identification of schedule and cost variances, development and implementation of recommendations for corrective action for variances, and for proactive change management.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or other applicable Engineering disciplines
  2. At least 4-5 years of engineering and design experience in water-related design disciplines
  3. Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain within 12 months
  4. Strong design development and management skills
  5. Progressive experience developing engineering design drawings and specifications
  6. Experience developing and managing delivery to contractual design scopes of work, level of effort budgets, and schedules
  7. Foundational experience with MS Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  8. Ability to work as part of and lead teams to deliver complex products and tasks
  9. Attention to detail, quality delivery, and client service
Ideally, you’ll also have:
  1. 6+ years of engineering and design experience in water-related disciplines
  2. Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
  3. Experience with design-build projects and/or other 'alternative delivery' approaches
  4. Progressive experience developing engineering technical reports and presentations, or with computer modeling
  5. Experience or working knowledge with Autodesk and/or Bentley CAD platforms, with Bluebeam Revu, and with scheduling software (MS Project or similar)
  6. Experience or working knowledge with Autodesk Civil 3D
