Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manager, Business Development to join our dynamic team at Heartland Financial Group. In this role, you will lead initiatives to grow our business in the health and annuity markets by identifying new opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. This role is critical to driving net revenue growth through strategic partnerships and a comprehensive sales approach, from prospecting to client implementation. You will also foster a collaborative internal environment, ensuring seamless communication with cross-functional teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify, research, and develop new business opportunities in health and annuity markets.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing clients to foster loyalty and identify growth opportunities.
- Manage the entire sales lifecycle, from prospecting to successful onboarding and implementation.
- Monitor client activities and ensure accurate reporting in line with company requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align goals, foster teamwork, and promote efficient business operations.
- Provide excellent service through regular follow-ups, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience; 4-6 years of business development experience in insurance/annuity sales preferred.
- Proven track record in business development and client management. Previous leadership experience is a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, with strong time management, delegation, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent listening skills, with the ability to navigate complex customer interactions with confidence and tact.
