Position Data:

Title: Summer Food Kitchen Assistant

Grade: 2 Exempt Non-Exempt X

Reports to: Child Care Council Director

Basic Function or Position Summary:

Assists with food preparation and deliver for children and other customers. Assists with cleanup of kitchen, dishes, and prep areas. Hours per week 32-35: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm. Salary $15.45-$16.45/hourly

Security Clearance: None

Requirements

Position Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

•Food preparation

•Set up for delivery of food

•Serves meals

•Place food into vehicles for transport to off-site locations

•Wash dishes, floors, and food prep areas

•Transport food and supplies off-site

•Assist with stocking of groceries

•Complete needed paperwork

•Promotes agency mission

•Maintains confidentiality and complies with the Code of Ethics

•Maintains consistent professional customer service

•Job performance incorporates integrated service delivery model while promoting self-sufficiency.

•Other duties as designated by supervisor

Key Working Relationships:

A. Internal: Center Directors, Head Cook. Assistant Cook, Child Care Council Staff

B. External: Vendors, customers, and agencies

Supervisory Scope:

A. Number of staff supervised: 0

B. Titles supervised: None

Organizational Responsibilities:

•Adheres to Summer Food and CACFP food preparation and safety regulations

Knowledge, Skills Required:

•16 years of age or HS diploma and/or GED

•Knowledge of health and sanitation procedures and practices.

Special Requirements:

•Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required: subject to random drug and alcohol testing for cause.

•Ability to lift to and including 50 pounds

•Must be able to provide consistent even tempered customer service at all times

•Works compassionately with a diverse population
