Field Supervisor

Position Description: Field Supervisor

Title: Field Supervisor
Reports to: Project Manager
Class: Full-Time, Hourly, Full Benefit Package

Description of Duties: The Field Supervisor is responsible for installing the systems in the most efficient and effective manner to ensure minimum down time and maximum performance. He or she assists managers with supervising Installers during the installation phase of the project. All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by SWC while assuring a professional and safe working environment. He or She is responsible for communicating system performance to the Installation Manager.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the installation of field wiring and final hookup of electronics equipment for new and retrofit jobs.
2. Represents the Installation Manager at job site meetings.
3. May assist with site visits to check on job progress and progress of other trades as it relates to SWC's ability to meet job specifications.
4. May provide on-site supervision for subcontractors.
5. Assists with maintaining construction schedule and coordinating task scheduling with other trades.
6. Assists Installation Manager with monthly forecasting.
7. In accordance with applicable Company policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
8. Supervises and mentors' new installers with on-the-job training.
9. Schedules employees to jobs and ensures timesheets are complete, accurate, and timely.
10. Tests and documents readings for all installations.
11. Responsible for reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
12. Responsible for operation of all testing equipment.
13. Responsible for accurate tracking on time sheets, installation tickets and inventory items.
14. Full compliance with company's and customer's safety program.
15. Research and obtain information on position-specific training opportunities.
16. Must demonstrate understanding of all products provided by SWC.
17. Other duties as required or assigned by company management

Accountability: Accountable to the Installation Manager. Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, employees and customers of the company.

Travel: Some out of town travel may be required.

Additional Skills and Abilities:

1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2. Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.
3. Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
4. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
6. Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Suite.
7. Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
8. Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
9. Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
10. Valid and current driver's license.

Education Requirements

1. Minimum: High school graduate. Must be able to read and write at Basic English proficiency. Must be able to compute basic math functions without difficulty. Can read CAD generated prints and building blueprints and riser diagrams. Has solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory - formal instruction is preferred. Is proficient with PC and has proven aptitude in simple engineering and construction.
2. Preferred: Associate degree in Electronics, NSCA CEST Certification, Project Management Certification. RCDD and factory training a plus.
3. Experience: At least 5 Years

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

1. Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
2. Requires the ability to lift 50-60 lbs., climb, crawl, and raise things overhead.
3. Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
4. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
5. Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
