Job Description:

- Provide professional nursing care to patients in student health services or correctional facility.
- Observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients.
- Conduct nursing rounds and take vital signs.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Monitor and provide immediate medical attention to emergencies.
- Schedule, assign, and review work of lower-level staff as necessary.
- Participate in staff development and education.
- Evaluate care needed and rendered; develop care plans and teach health care principles.
- Perform specialized procedures like IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, dialysis, and more.
- Organize and oversee 'code blue' team; direct health care staff on the assigned shift.
- Assist physicians in diagnostic health evaluations.
- Perform clerical tasks like charting, completing required reports, and maintaining inventory.
- Arrange out-patient clinic appointments and medical examinations.
- Order and manage prescriptions.

Major Worker Characteristics:

- Knowledge of professional registered nursing procedures and relevant regulations.
- Skilled in operating medical equipment (e.g., stethoscopes, EKG machines).
- Ability to address and manage various situations, write accurate reports, and demonstrate physical fitness.
