Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (General)

Must-Have: Knowledge of skilled licensed practical nursing procedures

Job Description:

- Administer nursing care within the scope of practice under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed physician.
- Perform tasks such as administering oxygen, applying sterile dressings, inserting catheters, reinserting gastrostomy tubes, suctioning, and irrigating wounds.
- Collect specimens and perform dialysis treatments using hemodialysis equipment.
- Assist physicians with physical exams, treatments, and laboratory tests.
- Provide emergency assistance by administering first-aid and performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
- Administer controlled drugs and non-controlled medications in various forms, providing medication instructions to patients.
- Maintain medication accountability records and observe, document, and report patient conditions, including medication reactions and treatment responses.
- Provide general nursing care and direct care assistance, such as taking patient vital signs and assisting with hygiene and daily living activities.
- Order medication and medical supplies, and clean the nurses' station and medication room.
- Use medical equipment competently, including respirators, dialysis machines, and blood pressure cuffs.
- Provide training and work direction to lower-level direct care staff.
- Attend and participate in various meetings and training programs.
- Develop good rapport with patients and residents and be capable of managing emergency situations effectively.
