Must-Have: Knowledge of skilled licensed practical nursing procedures, pharmacology, client/patient care, and general hospital practices

Job Description:

- Administer nursing care within the scope of practice under the direction of registered professionals.
- Perform tasks such as administering oxygen, applying sterile dressings, inserting catheters, and reinserting gastrostomy tubes.
- Manage patient care including wound irrigation, specimen collection, dialysis treatment, and operation of medical equipment.
- Assist physicians with exams, treatments, and laboratory tests.
- Respond to emergencies by providing first-aid, performing CPR, or restraining patients.
- Administer controlled and non-controlled drugs and provide medication instructions to patients.
- Maintain medication accountability records and document patient conditions, medication reactions, treatment responses, and progress.
- Provide direct care and assistance in patient grooming, hygiene, and daily living activities.
- Reposition patients, respond to alarms, make medical appointments, and escort patients as necessary.
- Provide guidance and training to lower-level staff in unskilled nursing care.
- Participate in meetings including staff conferences and training programs.
- Manage medical supplies, clean the nurse's station, and perform clerical tasks such as answering phones and filing.

Major Worker Characteristics:

- Knowledge: Skilled nursing procedures, pharmacology, patient care, first aid, CPR, general hospital practices, HIPAA regulations, and employee training.
- Skills: Operation of medical equipment, use of hypodermics, and personal computer operation.
- Abilities: Recognize unusual conditions, develop rapport with patients, understand nursing manuals, administer injections, and reposition/restrain patients.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Order medication and medical supplies.
- Clean and sterilize medical carts and equipment.
- Maintain professionalism while interacting with patients and staff.
