About the role:
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Human Resources to provide HR leadership for theCarrier Commercial HVAC engineering and manufacturing plant in Charlotte, NC. The incumbent will be responsible for talentmanagement, workforce planning, organizational development, employee relations, and engagement. In addition, theleader will play an integral role in aligning and driving the company culture as a member of the site leadership team.
It is a great time to join the Human Resources function at Carrier, with investments made inhuman resources technology and evolution in our HR operating model, including HR Operationsand Communities of Expertise (COEs).This position reports directly to the Executive Director, Human Resources and Employee and Labor Relations for HAVC Operations Americas.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a trusted advisor and influencer, this role will be focused on driving the execution ofenterprise initiatives and business strategies for a 200+ person non-union manufacturing facility comprised of both salaried and hourly populations with additional responsibility supporting approximately 200 salaried engineers. Trust, adaptability, credibility, and focus on resultsare key attributes for this role, with success measured on the resulting overall organization healthand workforce engagement as well as successful implementation of key programs.
- Lead to ensure that the organization's HR strategy is implementedeffectively in support of business priorities.
- Collaborate with business leaders within Carrier to implement strategies focused on
increasing employee engagement, retention, and team development. - Drive local talent strategies to build talent bench and pipelines; ensure current employeeshave skills necessary for the development and future organizational requirements.
- Partner with Carrier’s Centers of Excellence (COE’s) to lead and execute strategies through the site.
- Build bridges between leadership & workforce by listening and providing sound, fair and
credible advice. - Oversee the compilation and reporting of HR metrics to key stakeholders, recommend strategies for improving these metrics with the goal of increasing theeffectiveness of human resources management.
- Counsel and train managers through challenging performance management situations. Work with managers to develop and communicate HR-related improvement plans.
- Ensure the organization complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and employment
standards. - Influence others at all different levels to accept practices and approaches; communicateand influence executive leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8 + years of experience in a manufacturing facility and/or providing HR support to hourly populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA/MS degree in Human Resources Management or related field with 3+ years of experience
- Demonstrated results partnering with leadership and driving HR results throughout a matrixed environment
- Demonstrated ability tomeet specific and measurable goals while juggling multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal and functional skillsets required,including excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail, financial acumen
- Flexible hours to support shift work as needed
