Role Overview

The Account/Project Manager is responsible for selling and managing small projects while leveraging expertise in HVAC and mechanical systems. This role supports Project Managers with service support on construction projects, sells and negotiates future service work, and ensures the installation timelines are met. The ideal candidate will build and maintain positive relationships, possess in-depth mechanical and HVAC systems knowledge, and excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously.


Responsibilities

  • Pursue and secure new customer service opportunities to meet revenue goals per market segment and geographic area.
  • Communicate the overall value proposition of the department and company to customers.
  • Engage in detailed pre-sale communication to ensure scopes of work are relevant and meaningful.
  • Promote and maintain strong partnerships with customers and trade relationships.
  • Prepare accurate and complete customer proposals, including estimates of materials, equipment, and labor.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to establish service support for existing construction projects.
  • Track labor resources and coordinate future work planning.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Monitor project costs and maintain accurate forecasts through job completion.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for customers and internal staff.
  • Report sales metrics to the Service Department Manager and coordinate with Finance.
  • Adjust priorities and manage interruptions efficiently.
  • Review equipment submittals for accuracy prior to submission.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes.
  • Create and revise job schedules, coordinate tasks, estimates, vendor delivery schedules, and staff assignments.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by addressing concerns, implementing corrective actions, and communicating with customers and staff.
  • Communicate project obligations with field technicians through on-site discussions.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of technical and sales experience in the HVAC/Plumbing industry, with a focus on commercial HVAC system installations.
  • Proficient in service software and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to create detailed budgets from conceptual plans.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to job sites in VT, NY, and NH.


Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Some repetitive motion required (e.g., keyboard use).
  • Ability to navigate active construction sites and wear necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and climb ladders occasionally.
  • Work environment includes both office and construction site settings.
