About the Role

The Senior Architect - Project Manager will be responsible for leading architecture projects from design through construction, managing client relationships, and participating in business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Take a leadership role in all phases of design, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding and negotiation, and construction administration.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a design team for any given project, providing guidance and oversight to ensure successful project completion.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development efforts to advance project development and effectively cross-sell services in a growing market.
  • Client Management: Manage client relationships at the social, technical, and contract level, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Decision Making: Make independent decisions on architectural problems and methods, minimizing risks and vulnerabilities while seeking means to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and approve all work performed under supervision, participating in internal quality assurance/quality control processes.
  • Contract Management: Supervise the preparation and check the accuracy of contract documents, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Team Motivation: Provide leadership and motivation to a team performing a sequence of tasks to meet milestones, ensuring timely and successful project completion.
  • Proposal Development: Assist with assembling design proposals and contracts, incorporating necessary scope and consultants for a financially successful project, in cooperation with the managing principal.
  • Financial Management: Manage financial and time performance metrics of projects, ensuring successful completion and meeting company goals.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture with North Dakota, South Dakota, and/or Minnesota registration, or the ability to obtain licensure upon employment, with at least 15 years of successful post-graduate design and consulting experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills and production experience using Revit (required); AutoCAD experience a plus.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects of various types and scales at the same time with varying timelines and deliver successful projects on schedule.
  • Time Management: Outstanding time management skills and ability to prioritize various tasks and team resources throughout the course of projects to maintain reasonable workloads for the team.
  • Financial Acumen: Eager to learn financial metrics for successful completion and performance of projects.
  • Teamwork: Successfully worked in teams and have outstanding listening and communication skills.
  • Design Skills: Strong conceptual design and communication skills, with fluency in SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of building codes, zoning ordinances, and standards.
