Erie Family Health Centers, a top workplace in Chicago and suburbs, is looking for a valuable addition to our Residency Program The Residency Program coordinator provides direction, leadership, and management of the daily operations and logistics of the Erie Northwestern McGaw Family Medicine Residency program through planning, organizing, and coordinating its administration. Their responsibilities span maintenance of accreditation, evaluation, and financial oversight of the Family Medicine Residency Program situated within a Federally Qualified Health Center. This position serves as a liaison between the Erie Northwestern McGaw Family Medicine Residency program and faculty, students, and staff of Erie Family Health Centers, Swedish Hospital, part of Endeavor Health, McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, and Erie's community partners.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In close collaboration with the Program Director, serves as primary coordinator for all day-to-day program activities including maintenance of ACGME and Joint Commission accreditation; program, faculty, and resident evaluation; financial oversight of the Family Medicine Residency Program, and Resident Graduation and offboarding. This position operationally and administratively supports the Program Director and Faculty.
  • Serve as key liaison between the Erie Northwestern McGaw Family Medicine Residency program, faculty, students, and staff of Erie Family Health Centers, Swedish Hospital, part of Endeavor Health, McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and Erie's community partners. Collaborates with Erie staff across sites and programs to encourage optimal integration of the Residency within the FQHC.
  • Secure completion of all credentialing and HR requirements of onboarding/offboarding residents and students.
  • Operationalize successful educational experiences for residents including arranging clinical rotations, supporting didactic sessions and longitudinal curricula, coordinating program participation in conferences/symposia, and ensuring completion of associated evaluations.
  • Ensure that training activities and accompanying documentation meet the criteria established by accreditation bodies and are successfully supported. Support Program Director in accreditation site visits ensuring accuracy and thorough preparation.
Qualifications

Education

Preferred:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with 6 years of progressively responsible leadership experience; OR
  • Associate degree or two years of college, with 4 years of progressively responsible leadership experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited college or university with 2 years of progressive leadership experience
Experience:

Preferred:
  • Two years of related experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Previous administrative experience preferred.
  • Prior residency experience preferred but not required.
Skills and Knowledge:

Required:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to communicate promptly and professionally to multiple stakeholders across organizations and coordinate communication between individuals and programs.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Must be able to promptly identify challenges and opportunities as they arise and find innovative solutions within the scope of their responsibility. Collaborates with supervisor and partners on issues outside of scope.
  • Prioritization. Must be able to take multiple assigned long and short-term projects, challenges, and opportunities and appropriately prioritize and delegate.
  • Administration and organization. Must be able to create and organize systems on multiple levels in support of the residency program.
Preferred:
  • Strong computer skills. Expert in Microsoft Office and Google applications. Ability to learn to expert level other electronic databases such as New Innovations, ERAS, Freida, etc.
  • Goal-setting and long-range planning. Must be able to work with residency team to create and coordinate systems to enhance the educational experience of the residents, refine the program, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Familiarity with ACGME guidelines and graduate medical education. Ability to apply guidelines to new and existing structures.
