Description:

The Safety Manager will observe job sites, coordinate safety with contractors, and implement occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations. The Safety Manager will work onsite with the client and collaborate with the Graham Company Safety Services team as needed.

JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Reviews Contractor Site-Specific Safety Plans prior to the start of construction on site.
* Review and comments on Crane Hoist Plans.
* Reviews JHA's developed by Contractors for specific tasks.
* Periodically attends and participates in Progress Meetings.
* Trains internal staff on safety requirements.
* Monitors sites for compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
* Provides technical and administrative support to Contractors.
* Stops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
* Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
* Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
* Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess contractor compliance with safety regulations.
* Works collaboratively with Graham Company Safety Services team.
* Reviews and provides input on accident and incident reports.
* Attend meetings relating to your position.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in health and safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required.
* At least five (5) years of occupational health and safety experience in the construction industry required.
* Extensive knowledge of safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to conduct training.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Professional demeanor.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Proficient in Graham standard computer applications.
* Regular and predictable attendance in accordance with the limitations and reporting procedures established by The Graham Company from time to time.
* Employees are required to be fit-for-duty which includes not being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. This includes any drugs that might impact an employee's ability to safely perform their job.

WORK LOCATION:

Work is performed onsite in New Haven, CT area.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $110,000 to $120,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
