We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Safety Officer to join our team at Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District. As a permanent district employee, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety protocols to prevent and respond to incidents on school campuses.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and staff to promote a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Provide training and education to students, staff, and parents on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Respond to emergency situations and incidents, including natural disasters, medical emergencies, and security breaches.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as education, law enforcement, or emergency management.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety or security role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to think critically and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
  • Valid California driver's license and ability to pass a background check.
