Term Assistant Professor, Human Rights
Job Summary:
The Human Rights Program at Barnard College, Columbia University invites applications for a one-year term assistant professor position. This position has the potential to be extended to a multi-year term position.
Job Description:
We seek candidates who can teach an already established curriculum of engaged pedagogy courses that focus on human rights and justice issues with respect to immigration and asylum in New York City. Specifically, the position is to teach three five-credit courses in which students conduct hands-on work in collaboration with New York City community-based organizations.

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:
While the position is open with regard to disciplinary background, candidates must have a terminal degree in a related discipline (Ph.D. or J.D.) and have demonstrated expertise in the critical social science scholarship of migration, asylum, and human rights. Prior experience designing and teaching community-engaged courses and familiarity with immigration-related issues in New York City is preferred.
