Job Description Summary
As the GEAM (GE Aerospace Materials) Quality and Technical Manager, you will provide people leadership and coaching on strategic quality and technical initiatives aligned with FLIGHT DECK to drive a zero-defect culture across all three warehouse locations and across the GEAM business. You will be responsible for developing strategic actions addressing Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and quality related Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
This role will require established problem-solving skills to develop root-cause corrective action (RCCA), process improvement through process capability, digital solution, and data analytics across all three GEAM warehouses. You will design and deliver training solutions around the quality initiatives and zero-defect culture. You will lead all internal and external audits as required. This role will also support and coach the eight Storefront Operations teams in partnership with the Storefront Operations Leader.
This role will also provide leadership of GEAM's technical resources supporting material repair development salvation projects, cost-out initiatives, and act as GEAM's technical consultant to reach across the broader business.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
* Drive a culture of quality compliance and continuous improvement.
* Ensure GEAM compliance to Procedure 985
* Lead and effectively communicate across the organization to address Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and quality related Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) to identify root-cause, corrective actions, and sustainment.
* Develop deep understanding and capability with the ability to coach on the Aerospace Quality System and drive ownership and accountability across the GEAM organization.
* Lead all required external ISO/ASA audits and internal audits (Gensuite, GEAM Supplier quality, and CASL).
* Maintain GEAM's quality manual to remain up-to-date and accurate.
* Support the integration of FLIGHT DECK to optimize the use of Lean and quality tools.
* Ensure Quality procedures are kept updated as GEAM transitions ERP system from Oracle to SAP.
* Lead technical team responsible for:
* Partnering with Repair Engineering to disposition and address repair development (RD) material and departure records (DR) for GEAM material in repair.
* USM salvation reviews to support cost-out initiatives.
* Providing technical support for internal and external quality assurance audits.
* Collaboration with product line hardware owners, material program managers, and process engineers.
* Establish a Quality Management System for the eight customer Storefronts for continuous improvement in addressing quality concerns and drive a quality culture. Provide ongoing coaching and guidance with the local storefront teams.
* Provide leadership and coaching to the quality & technical team and foster their growth and development.
* Create a team culture that both retains and attracts talent to the organization that continuously improves our ability to support our teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of quality and materials management experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of quality and materials management experience).
