Pay: $25-$28 depending on experience
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

As our Certified Medical Assistant, you'll report to the Executive Director, and join a team of technicians, therapists, doctors and more all working to provide the BEST rehabilitative supportive care to our client population. You will play a pivotal role in supporting client treatment through proficient and empathetic medical services, meticulous medication oversight, and effective record-keeping

Additionally, you will: 
  • Generate daily SOAP notes and ensure meticulous record-keeping in alignment with facility and state regulations.
  • Monitor clients, document changes in their conditions, and respond promptly to adverse reactions to medication or treatment.
  • Record vital signs, including pulse, body temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure during client assessments.
  • Observe and document clients self-administering prescribed medication with accuracy.
  • Administer medications to clients as directed by physicians.
  • Facilitate communication with IMS Physicians and external physicians for potential referrals.
  • Collaborate with physicians and pharmacies to address medical, nursing, and medication-related concerns, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Input Doctor's Orders and Medication Protocols into the EMR system (Kipu).
  • Schedule client appointments with healthcare professionals, provide necessary links and ensure client readiness at the designated time.
  • Measure and record clients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
  • Conduct inventory checks and maintain nursing supplies and over-the-counter medication inventory.
  • Uphold compliance with HIPAA regulations and CARF standards.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding and adherence to policies and procedures related to professional ethics, confidentiality, and healthy boundaries.
  • Understand and implement the medication management policy and infection control protocol.
  • Perform blood draws and prepare blood samples for laboratory tests when required.
  • Provide compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and their families.

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program and a supervised healthcare externship.
  • Possession of Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or equivalent certifying agency.
  • 1+ year of prior experience in a medical assisting role with administrative duties or a similar healthcare position.
  • A valid California driver’s license and the ability to pass and maintain a clean driving record check (MVR) following our company standards.  
  • Preferred experience in a mental health treatment setting.
  • Knowledge of and experience with KIPU is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Medical Assisted Treatment.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
