Key Responsibilities
  • Client Care: Provide proficient and empathetic medical services, meticulous medication oversight, and effective record-keeping to support client treatment.
  • Documentation: Generate daily SOAP notes and ensure meticulous record-keeping in alignment with facility and state regulations.
  • Medication Management: Monitor clients, document changes in their conditions, and respond promptly to adverse reactions to medication or treatment.
  • Vital Signs: Record vital signs, including pulse, body temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure during client assessments.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications to clients as directed by physicians.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication with IMS Physicians and external physicians for potential referrals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians and pharmacies to address medical, nursing, and medication-related concerns, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Electronic Medical Records: Input Doctor's Orders and Medication Protocols into the EMR system (Kipu).
  • Scheduling: Schedule client appointments with healthcare professionals, provide necessary links, and ensure client readiness at the designated time.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct inventory checks and maintain nursing supplies and over-the-counter medication inventory.
  • Compliance: Uphold compliance with HIPAA regulations and CARF standards.
  • Professional Ethics: Demonstrate a thorough understanding and adherence to policies and procedures related to professional ethics, confidentiality, and healthy boundaries.
  • Medication Management Policy: Understand and implement the medication management policy and infection control protocol.
  • Blood Draws: Perform blood draws and prepare blood samples for laboratory tests when required.
  • Patient Support: Provide compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and their families.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of an accredited medical assistant program and a supervised healthcare externship.
  • Experience: 1+ year of prior experience in a medical assisting role with administrative duties or a similar healthcare position.
  • License: A valid California driver's license and the ability to pass and maintain a clean driving record check (MVR) following our company standards.
  • Preferred Experience: Preferred experience in a mental health treatment setting.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with KIPU is advantageous.
  • Certification: Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
