Position Overview:The Director of Operational Excellence and Financial Strategy is a pivotal role responsible for shaping and executing strategies that drive financial and operational success. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will oversee financial operations, implement strategic financial initiatives, and ensure operational efficiency across the agency.
Essential Job Duties:
Leadership and Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies that align with the company’s goals and drive organizational success.
  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to the overall strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, encouraging innovation and best practices.

Financial Strategy and Management:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with company goals and industry best practices.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance in collaboration with the COO.
  • Produce and present detailed financial reports, including P&Ls, cash flow positions, and other financial documents to executive leadership in collaboration with the COO.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and financial process improvements through data analysis and trend monitoring.
  • Manage relationships with financial service providers and vendors to secure optimal terms and conditions.

Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee the development and implementation of company-wide policies, SOPs, and operational guidelines in collaboration with department heads.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and drive operational performance.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of company-wide policies, SOPs, and operational guidelines in partnership with department heads.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across all departments.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to monitor operational performance and drive accountability.

Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, ensuring high levels of engagement, performance, and professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that supports the company’s values and mission.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.

  Facilities and Asset Management:
  • Lead the management of physical facilities, including the relationship with building management and oversight of office space and assets.
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient space utilization and asset management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related emergencies and issues.
  • Direct the procurement, maintenance, and management of technology and office equipment to ensure optimal functionality and efficiency.
  • Oversee the management of software licenses, distribution, and installation, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure robust data security and manage the agency's digital library and cloud storage systems.
  Internal Customer Service and Support:
  • Ensure excellence in customer service delivery to internal stakeholders, serving as the office help desk and guiding team members to resources and solutions.
  • Support pre-event and onsite logistics for company events, ensuring seamless execution and operational support.
  • Oversee front office operations, including guest experience and switchboard management, to ensure a professional and welcoming environment.

Special Projects and Initiatives:
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned by the COO, ensuring timely and successful execution.
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for operational and financial improvements that align with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to the evolving needs of the organization.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree, particularly an MBA with a concentration in Finance or a related discipline, is highly advantageous.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible roles within finance/accounting and/or operations
  • Experience in financial management, strategic financial planning, and overseeing financial operations.
