Housing Support Coordinator

East African Housing Services' (EAHS) mission is to contribute to the elimination of homelessness by providing stable housing and support for our clients that leads to an independent and productive life. 

EAHS is seeking an organized, professional Housing Support Coordinator with a background in housing and/or human services.
 
A member of the Housing Support Team, the Housing Support Coordinator will assist clients in obtaining and maintaining permanent, stable housing and overcoming barriers that may interfere with this. The Housing Support Coordinator will provide case coordination and management, guidance, and support to individuals who meet the criteria for participation in EAHS' Housing Support program. 
 
The Housing Support Coordinator should be comfortable completing housing searches, including but not limited to calling property management companies, scheduling and attending apartment showings with clients, researching and contacting resources as they relate to housing support, and coordinating moves for clients. 

This role requires extreme attention to detail as it relates to housing paperwork and collaboration with external agencies.  Experience working with people who have experienced/are experiencing homelessness, have disabilities, chronic health issues, mental health issues, and substance abuse issues is required.  Experience working with diverse groups is also required. 

The Housing Support Coordinator must:
  • Be a graduate of an accredited college with a degree in a social work, psychology, mental health, education, or closely related field.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Human Services (DHS) Background Study
  • Possess clear and professional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Possess basic computer skills 
  • Possess a valid Driver's License, maintain a reliable vehicle, and maintain valid vehicle insurance.
