Human Resource Dimensions has been engaged to place a Benefits Manager for a client located in Atlanta, GA. The Benefits Manager will be responsible for the evaluation, development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s benefit programs, policies and procedures. Ensures programs are competitive, attractive to employees, align with company goals, and comply with legal requirements. Manages plan costs to assure maximum coverage with cost effective outcomes for the company and employees.

The Opportunity:
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Evaluate and compare existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, conducting internal pulse surveys, and other sources of information.
  • Design and recommend benefits programs to management, including innovative healthcare solutions that meet the needs of a diverse workforce.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure the best possible benefits and services for employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and other relevant laws.
  • Work with external partners to deliver programs to team members in a seamless and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for identifying drivers that impact the cost, quality, and delivery of healthcare.
  • Role will analyze and evaluate historical claims data and utilization patterns to understand the trends, assess the risk, and make proactive financial recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding benefits inquiries, claims issues, and enrollment processes.
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits programs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and present reports on benefits program utilization, costs, and trends to senior management.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to align benefits programs with overall business strategies.
  • Manages and delivers wellness program initiatives to drive a culture of wellbeing, promote healthy behaviors and optimize healthcare costs.
  • Collaborates with partners to ensure compliance with various federal, state, and local leave legislation and mandates. Develop and maintain updated rules and process documentation of plans as well as SPDs.
  • Partners with internal and external team to create and maintain all communications for employees and managers, including annual enrollment guides, new hire guides, life event guides and information on Benefits Admin system.
  • Leads Annual/Open Enrollment activities including advising vendors on plan changes that may necessitate re-programming, testing and approving of annual enrollment website, and overseeing enrollment window period.
  • Understanding of Leaves of Absence function in compliance with company policies and relevant local regulations.
  • Oversees the preparation of required financial reports for FSA nondiscrimination testing and ACA compliance reporting and filings.
  • Serves as subject matter expert and primary liaison between various internal and external parties involved with the health and welfare plan administration and facilitate team projects with Corporate and its’ subsidiaries.
  • Manages and mentor Sr. Benefits Administrator.

What we are seeking:
A health and welfare professional with:
  • At least 5 years’ experience with Self & Fully Funded health and welfare plan management and demonstrated expertise in the administration, interpretation, execution, and process documentation of all company health and welfare program as well as assuring compliance of such programs with required federal and state laws (ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and others)
  • Substantial, success experience in working with third party vendors and insurers.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to develop trusting relationships with stakeholders, including but not limited to employees, managers, and HR Business Partners and to communicate complex issues in understandable way.
  • The ability to think independently and use discretion when evaluating the appropriate course of action.
  • Critical analytical skills to identify, investigate and correct problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Demonstrated agility to work in a fast-paced work environment, manage a variety of tasks simultaneously with efficiency, balance a large and diversified workload, and navigate challenging situations.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Understanding of the UKG HRIS functionality is a plus.
  • Organizational and management skills to drive multiple workstreams needed to achieve the goals with a wide variety of internal partners (IT, Finance, HR, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects with competing priorities.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing comprehensive employee benefits programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in employee benefits and US healthcare.

Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field.
    • 7+ years of Benefits or HR experience, with demonstrated in-depth knowledge of benefits compliance and regulatory requirements.
    • SPHR, CBP or CEBS professional designations preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience creating and working with data sets and completing accurate spreadsheet-based analysis for deployment of programs.
  • Experience with federal and state regulations affecting employee benefit programs, including reporting requirements and governance practices around ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and Section 125.
  • Ability to accomplish results within a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
