JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Sr. Director of Unified Endpoint Management to lead a crucial division within our Technology Workplace Tower. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing our UEM platform (Bigfix + Intune), managing diverse device ecosystems including Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, and ensuring security and compliance across all endpoints. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 15 people, including direct reports, team members, and external contractors, within a larger organization. The Sr. Director builds and leverages strong partnerships across business, technology, product leadership and vendors/partners in order to implement an operating model of innovative cost savings and optimization solutions for Marriott. This global role spans responsibilities across all regions and will be instrumental in shaping the endpoint management strategy for the entire organization.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required:

  1. Undergraduate degree and/or equivalent combination of experience, education, and certification
  2. 10+ years of technology leadership experience with a blend of deep technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset including:
  3. 6+ years managing direct reports and Service Provider teams
  4. 5+ years experience delivering large-scale endpoint management technology solutions
  5. Extensive experience with UEM platforms, preferably including Bigfix, Intune, Workspace One or similar
  6. Experience in managing global teams and initiatives
  7. Experience working with remote and offshore development teams
  8. Strong understanding of various operating systems (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android)
  9. Experience with endpoint security and compliance in enterprise environments
  10. Demonstrated ability in design thinking and understanding user journeys
  11. Proven track record in utilizing data and analytics to drive decision making
  12. Strong innovation skills and ability to adapt to rapidly changing technological landscapes
  13. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  14. Knowledge of compliance requirements in technology environments
  15. Functional knowledge of SAFe/Agile framework
  16. Functional knowledge of Product Management

Preferred:

  1. Graduate Degree in Information Technology, Management or related discipline
  2. 5+ years experience leading and engaging highly technical architecture, engineering and operations teams
  3. 5+ years of hands on technical experience in digital infrastructure and/or development teams
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage a large, diverse portfolio of technologies and projects, while balancing short-term goals and long-term vision
  5. Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success
  6. Expert problem solver that is able to solve challenges across people, process and technology
  7. Ability to build strong relationships and network throughout the broader IT community
  8. Experience in the security, implementation and operational support of mission critical products
  9. Strong influencing skills and an ability to overcome barriers while driving change
  10. Experience in researching emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products
  11. Experience in developing technology roadmaps and strategies

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Technical Leadership and Delivery

  1. Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the UEM platform
  2. Consolidate technologies to manage a migration to a single UEM platform
  3. Manage diverse device ecosystems including Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android
  4. Develop and implement policies for device lifecycle management
  5. Lead image management for various operating systems
  6. Implement and maintain security policies across all managed devices
  7. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  8. Manage a team of approximately 15 people, including direct reports, team members, and external contractors
  9. Apply product management principles to UEM solutions
  10. Utilize SAFe and Agile methodologies in project execution and team management
  11. Drive strategic decisions regarding UEM platform evolution and integration
  12. Oversee hardware refresh cycles and OS upgrade strategies
  13. Collaborate with security teams to address endpoint-related threats and vulnerabilities
  14. Establish and manage relationships with hardware suppliers and software vendors
  15. Oversee budget management and maintain fiduciary responsibility
  16. Aid other teams in the adoption of new technologies and innovations
  17. Support compliance efforts by maintaining and documenting procedures and reporting systems

IT Governance

  1. Follow all defined IT standards and processes and provide input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
  2. Lead team in adoption of agile product-based model. Defines KPIs and drives team to achieve goals.
  3. Maintain a proper balance between business and operational risk
  4. Provide financial input on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other cost/resource estimates as requested

Service Provider Management

  1. Own outcomes of the aligned Service Provider team and contractors inclusive of project delivery and operations
  2. Make short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources
  3. Facilitate timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimize the impact to clients

Managing Projects and Priorities

  1. Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work for self and direct reports.
  2. Provide direction and assistance to other teams regarding projects. Determine priorities, schedules, plans and necessary resources to ensure completion of any projects on schedule.
  3. Think creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new plans or programs. Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  4. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the quality of the teams’ operations.
  5. Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders.
  6. Champion leaders’ vision for product and service delivery.
  7. Work with direct reports and peers to develop and implement strategies and goals. Communicate a clear and consistent message regarding goals to produce desired results.
  8. Maintain high performance levels by attracting, developing and retaining talent, managing performance, building career paths, and aligning performance and rewards to company goals.
  9. Promote the fair and equitable treatment of employees.
  10. Set goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and hold staff accountable for performance goals.
  11. Solicit employee feedback.
  12. Utilize an “open door policy” and review employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
  13. Make and execute the necessary decisions to keep team moving forward toward achievement of goals.
  14. Provide targeted and timely communication of results, achievements and challenges to direct reports, peers, and leaders.

Additional Information

This role reports directly to the Vice President and is part of the leadership team of the Technical Workplace Products tower. The position plays a key role in the company's global digital transformation initiatives. Change management skills are crucial for driving adoption of new technologies and practices. The successful candidate will be expected to balance innovation with compliance and security needs. Performance will be measured on factors such as successful technology adoption rates, user satisfaction, system performance, and efficiency of operations. Travel may be required to support global initiatives and collaborate with international teams.

The salary range for this position is $134,700 to $255,930 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.

Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive a minimum of 7 holidays annually.
