About the role:

Global Sales, Strategy & Operations (GSSO) is tasked with increasing the 7,000+ sales force productivity by partnering with stakeholders across the business to design and implement innovative solutions that meet client retention and growth goals and deliver strong returns on resource investment. The team is focused on driving analytical, technology, and process improvement solutions to some of the company's most pressing challenges.

The Territory Planning & Analytics (TP&A) team is part of GSSO and is at the center of Gartner's corporate strategy. The group serves as the internal consulting team for Sales globally, leading growth strategy, go-to-market strategy, and market opportunity assessment.

What you will do:

  • Identify opportunities for sales process improvements and develop innovative solutions that drive efficiency and growth. Conduct research and analyses to drive fact-based decision making that improves overall performance and economics.
  • Perform high-quality quantitative and qualitative analytics to inform territory strategy and improve sales productivity, asking and answering pressing questions for territories across Sales and Service. Assess approaches for execution/implementation.
  • Design and roll out pilots to validate feasibility.
  • Understand the needs of the individual contributor, the senior leader, and regional differences when assessing approaches for execution/implementation across Sales.
  • Own execution of key cross-functional initiatives working closely with cross-functional teams - design solutions, manage timelines, partner on key decisions and implementation.
  • Drive a culture of continuous innovation and globally consistent standards.
  • Cultivate strong and mutually respectful relationships across the organization and partner with Sales leadership to solve complex problems and identify productivity improvement opportunities.

What you will need:

  • 10+ years of work experience in any of the following roles: Consulting, Analytics, Sales Operations, Sales Strategy, Product Development space
  • MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative problem-solving experience, including turning quantitative analysis into actionable recommendations and business strategies
  • Practiced leader of projects and teams in a fast-paced, large matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to own, manage and complete complex, multi-functional projects
  • Technical savvy with managing and maintaining large data sets, enterprise systems, algorithms, and IT development
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, Power BI a plus
  • Compelling presentation skills and the ability to influence required outcomes
  • High achiever marked by perseverance, humility, and a positive outlook when facing complex business problems
  • Motivated performer with demonstrated ability to influence others to action and lead, including beyond own business unit. Comfortable leading through change and ambiguity
  • A leader with executive presence to immediately establish credibility with executives
  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, but capable of understanding broader strategy. Ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables
  • An exceptional manager of relationships and ability to influence others into action
  • Practical, intuitive problem solver driven by intellectual curiosity to develop creative solutions to tackle sales problems
