The Chief Financial Officer advises the President & Chief Executive Officer and other executives with respect to overall financial leadership, including financial reporting, financial stability and liquidity, and financial growth of the organization. The Chief Financial Officer participates significantly in the annual planning process and ensures appropriate financial resources are allocated to achieve objectives.

The Chief Financial Officer supervises the Accounting, Human Resources and Information Technology staff and defines accounting, human resource and information technology principles, practices and procedures and demonstrates expertise in a variety of financial and accounting concepts, practices, and procedures. The Chief Financial Officer relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Ensure strategic vision is communicated and understood in a manner that allows the management team to develop and execute the tactics and plan that support that vision.
  2. Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance.
  3. Participate in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  4. Promote continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
  5. Ensure the timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the president and the other senior executives.
  6. Ensure management, coordination and proper function of ERP systems across all companies.
  7. Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
  8. Collaborate with management and ensure execution of tactics and action plans.
  9. Collaborate with CEO and President to manage the company health care and liability insurance programs.
  10. Ensure approval and sign off on the annual business and financial plan.
  11. Ensure we make commitments to our customers that are realistic; under promise and over deliver versus over promise and under deliver.
  12. Ensure we develop appropriate business partners required to execute our strategic and tactical plans.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has supervisory responsibilities for accounting, human resources and information technology.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; a CMA, CPA and/or MBA plus a minimum of 5 to 7 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER / PC SKILLS

Associate must possess literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Mail / Exchange, as well as, an ability to learn the companies ERP system.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret common documents as would be expected within the financial and executive management level. Ability to effectively respond to inquiries from customers, vendors, associates and members of the business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply common mathematical concepts required, including concepts such as discounts, interest, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical financial and executive management situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect appropriate data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, as well as, the ability to present findings in a well-organized manner to management team for evaluation and approval.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

A professional certification is highly preferred but not required.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. However, the associate will be expected to spend time in manufacturing and will be required to observe all applicable safety procedures deemed appropriate by the company.
