Join our Team as Vice President for Advancement
Overview:We are seeking a visionary leader passionate about driving innovation and fostering philanthropy to step into the role of Vice President for Advancement. Reporting directly to the President, this pivotal position will lead a comprehensive advancement program focused on strategic fundraising and relationship-building efforts.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Strategy:
- Inspire and guide the advancement team to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
- Mentor and develop a motivated and effective team.
- Formulate and implement a fundraising strategy aligned with the university’s mission and strategic goals.
- Support various stakeholders with communications and marketing initiatives.
- Fundraising and Advancement:
- Drive the university’s advancement goals through oversight of capital campaigns, major gifts, alumni relations, and donor stewardship.
- Play a crucial role in advancing our $1 billion Power the Difference campaign by creating new networks and strengthening relationships with major donors, alumni, and corporate partners.
- Manage and optimize the advancement budget to ensure a strong return on investment.
- Support the President with communication and travel related to national and international alumni and philanthropic prospects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least 10 years of advancement, fundraising, and alumni relations experience.
- 5-10 years of senior leadership and management experience, preferably in higher education or a sophisticated non-profit environment.
- Proven success in achieving fundraising goals and leading comprehensive campaigns.
- Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Strategic thinker with a collaborative, proactive approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- High degree of personal initiative and effective team skills.
- Hybrid work schedule with 60% in the office and 40% remotely.
- Occasional off-site events required to engage with donors, alumni, and trustees.
- Approximately 20% travel required.
