Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • The client is seeking mechanical CAD professionals who can design fixturing & test equipment and generate and review mechanical system documentation.
  • The client works primarily on U.S. Government-funded programs, and the ideal candidate should have experience with developing technical data packages according to the principles laid out in MIL-STD-31000, including ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning & tolerancing and Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and/or CREO is a must.
  • Experience with the 3DX Product Lifecycle Management tool is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates will be asked to support several projects at any given time and must possess strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Candidates must also be able to communicate effectively and openly with multi-disciplinary program team members and program leadership, including non-technical personnel

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • Experience designing in 3D CAD and producing 2D drawings using SolidWorks and/or CREO
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-31000
  • Strong understanding of ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning & tolerancing
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-year degree in a relevant field such as drafting, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering
  • 2+ years of work experience in a defense contracting environment
