About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team and lead the design and development of our next-generation profiler. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in hydrodynamics, subsea packaging, and additive manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the mechanical design of our next-generation profiler, including buoyancy control systems, structures, and packaging.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough and detailed model to enable the simulation of systems, CB/CG modeling, and buoyancy models.
  • Work closely with our partners, fabricators, and internal team to bring prototypes to reality in a compressed timeframe.
  • Participate in all phases of the testing cycle to provide early identification of risks to the project and rapidly provide cost and performance implications.
  • Provide guidance and a strong engineering voice as the manufacturing team ramps up to production quantities.
Requirements
  • BSME (or related degree) from a 4-year college/university.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Expertise in one of the mainstream 3D mechanical engineering CAD/Simulation software programs.
  • Expertise in finite-element analysis to evaluate stresses and structural modes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively amongst a diverse group of engineering disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics with ≥ 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in engineering leadership roles in a cross-functional environment.
  • Proficiency with maker skills such as rapid prototyping machinery and electromechanical assembly.
