Our Team

The Professional Services department within Informatica ensures customers are successful in deploying our data integration and analytic platforms. Our consultants work with our customers and partners both on short-term assignments to provide spot, Informatica expertise, and longer-term efforts to provide a decision support project is delivered observing the customer's expectations.

Description

Informatica is looking for a Principal Consultant--Advisory Services (East Coast preferably) with practitioner experience leading large-scale data management and analytics projects. This is a remote position, reporting to a Senior Director, Data Strategy & Governance. You have experience implementing data governance programs, defining vision and data strategy with peers and senior leadership to gain support to the strategy and overall value of Informatica Products & Solutions to join our Professional Services team. You will provide pre- and post-sale strategic consulting services, typically onsite at the customer's location. Responsibilities include providing clients with data strategy development and understanding, implementation guidance, program design, business use case identification, program road mapping, and business outcome definition.

Job Summary

More management consultant than pure technologist, the Principal Consultant--Advisory Services is a unique and visible role within Informatica. You're a practitioner, and you understand what it takes to implement data and analytics solutions that make valuable results possible. As a Principal Consultant -- Advisory Services, you will deliver business consulting services to customers and prospects both in-person and remotely. You have 10+ years industry experience building data management programs, with an emphasis on connecting business strategy to data strategy and the "people/process" side of these plans.

What You'll Do

  1. This is a remote position in which you will engage with high-profile customers and connect their strategic goals to Informatica's technical capabilities.
  2. Support the pre- and post-sales customer journey and develop trusted advisor relationships with customers and partners.
  3. Lead workshops and consulting engagements with customer business and technology teams, determine use cases and strategies, help prospective customers create their data management program approach and roadmap, design programs, and advise on best practices for driving cultural change and adoption through data.
  4. Identify new business opportunities for Informatica sales and professional services through strategic customer engagement.
  5. Help build the Informatica brand by publishing white papers and blogs and supporting Informatica marketing events as an industry expert.
  6. Help develop new Advisory service offerings, including concept, positioning, collateral, enablement, and rollout.
  7. Be a true partner and trusted advisor to our customers while providing detailed expertise and exploring creative solutions.

Important Essentials

  1. 10+ years working in a leadership practitioner role in the data industry.
  2. Experienced with creating professional presentations and customer deliverables requiring little review/input from others.
  3. Experience working as a business-oriented consultant with all levels of an organization—from C-level to individual contributors.
  4. Domain expertise across all areas of the data management lifecycle and capabilities, including master data, governance, cloud, data quality, data privacy, and data integration.
  5. Passionate about data strategy and governance, and enjoy working with customers to solve challenges.
  6. Deep exposure to one or more industry markets: healthcare/life sciences expertise and one data strategy/data governance practitioner work.
  7. Bachelor's degree.

  1. You use your business and technology industry experience and executive communications and leadership to help your customers realize quantifiable benefits and ongoing success from their data program investments.

Nice to Have

  1. Formal experience in a management consulting role.
  2. 10+ years of related experience.
  3. Visibility and recognition in the data management industry through prior public speaking engagements, published articles, blogs, or white papers.
  4. Experience "selling" concepts and solutions within an organization or by a formal sales position.
  5. Industry affiliations and certifications (DAMA, EDM, TDWI).
  6. PMP/PMI, CCMP, or similar certification.
