Job Summary:
The Director of Operational Excellence will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive continuous improvement, streamline processes, and ensure that the organization meets its operational goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in operational excellence methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management (TQM), and have a proven track record of leading transformational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive operational excellence strategy aligned with organizational goals. Provide thought leadership and guidance on best practices and methodologies.
- Process Improvement: Identify, analyze, and optimize key business processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality. Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of operational improvements. Report on progress to senior leadership and recommend actionable insights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments to drive alignment and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and change management initiatives.
- Project Management: Lead and oversee high-impact projects aimed at operational excellence. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Talent Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing team of operational excellence professionals. Promote a culture of learning and growth within the department.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure buy-in and support for operational excellence initiatives. Manage relationships with external partners and vendors as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in operations management or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on operational excellence.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels within the organization.
- Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
