Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources or designee, the Senior Payroll Coordinator will ensure accurate processing and recording of payroll for all entities of Saint Elizabeth Community. Provides timely and accurate financial information and reporting, performs data entry and related duties.

Responsibilities of a Senior Payroll Coordinator:

  • Understands all aspects of payroll regarding state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Manages workflow to ensure that payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately.
  • Provides excellent customer service to employees and managers on payroll and paycheck related inquiries.
  • Accurately processes bi-weekly payrolls for multiple divisions of Saint Elizabeth Community.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for the pay rules and differential designs of Saint Elizabeth Community.
  • Investigates employee allegations of incorrect pay; facilitates issue resolution for employees.
  • Facilitates the daily overtime benefit for divisions using this compensation design.
  • Tracks and processes employee referral and retention bonuses and payouts.
  • Performs daily payroll operations, corrections, and data input.
  • Processes employee data changes.
  • Executes time and attendance processing; interfaces with payroll via Paylocity system.
  • Creation and distribution of reports.
  • Maintains payroll files on shared drives, post-payroll processing, each pay period.
  • Maintains copies of W2 and quarterly and annual tax filings on shared drives.
  • Completes employment verifications.
  • Completes unemployment insurance information requests.
  • Processes manual checks.

Qualifications for a Senior Payroll Coordinator:

  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Courses and college classes in bookkeeping, business administration, accounting and /or finance preferred.
  • At least two years' payroll experience in a multi-location, multi-shift setting is required.
  • Must be highly computer literate (including Excel) and able to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience with Paylocity system for payroll, time and attendance is strongly preferred.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of payroll best practices, and federal and state regulations regarding compensation.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new computer systems is required.
