Shoreline Fruit is the largest tart cherry producer in North America operating nearly 7000 acres of cherry orchards right here in Michigan, growing and processing over 25 million pounds of Montmorency tart cherries each year. You will be joining the team that grows, processes, markets, and sells the finest cherry products and other premium dried fruits available anywhere in the world.

We have an open position for a Procurement Coordinator - the Procurement Coordinator secures information through carious resources (material requirement planning, planning leads, forecast date) in the organization, works with the Supply Chain Manager to determine the demand for outside resources and materials and creates purchase orders for the procurement of materials and contract manufacturing services. The coordinator also manages the supply /demand planning activity for bottling, interacts with vendors when necessary to answer questions, provide information and ensure maximum performance and carries out related organizational and clerical tasks as required.

Essential Functions: (partial list)

  • Create, issue, manage and modify purchase orders for all contract manufacturers, packaging suppliers and raw ingredient suppliers.
  • Communicate with Suppliers to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries are achieved.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies in product specifications, order quantities, quality characteristics or delivery performance.
  • Create, maintain the contract manufacturing task folder and purchase order task lists and communicate relevant information to the contract manufacturing team.
  • Review all purchase orders for approval, confirming the delivery of goods and services.

Education, Experience:

2-4 years experience in a manufacturing environment, with an emphasis in procurement and /or college degree in related field.

Preferred experience with inventory and/ or ERP databases.

Effective communication skills, both oral and written, required.

Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.

Willingness to make decisions, includes appropriate people in decision making process, and supports and explained reasons for decisions.

Capable of trending data, organizing information, and drafting reports.
