We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Accounts Manager to lead our field team and drive collaboration on large accounts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in account management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders. This role is critical in ensuring our customers' success and satisfaction while achieving our business objectives. As a K12 Strategic Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and adoption of our educational products and solutions within the K12 market with large accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop the Field Team:
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the field team.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Work with National Sales Manager to determine best practices.
  • Strategic Account Management:
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for large, complex accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Identify and understand the district needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing issues and providing timely solutions.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, product development, etc.) to ensure alignment and support for strategic accounts.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the field team and other departments.
  • Coordinate and lead regular account review meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • You will work with adoptions to research state legislations, trends and create best practices.
  • Business Development:
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand our presence and increase revenue.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Track and report on account performance metrics using Salesforce.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.
  • Analyze account data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Customer Advocacy:
  • Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization.
  • Advocate for customer needs and ensure they are addressed in product development and service delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, education, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience with a proven track record of success in K12 publishing, or related roles with experience managing strategic accounts and driving adoption of educational products and solutions (with at least 4 years of experience in a managerial role).
  • Strong understanding of the K12 education market, including knowledge of curriculum standards, funding mechanisms, and purchasing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working with adoption states and understanding their unique requirements and procurement processes is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of state-specific adoption cycles, approval processes, and funding sources will be advantageous in effectively navigating sales opportunities in adoption states.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure that products meet adoption state standards and requirements, positioning our offerings for successful adoption.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex sales plans and initiatives.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on exceeding sales targets and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact in the K12 sector.
  • Experience in education is a plus.
