Job DescriptionJob DescriptionQuality assurance (QA) ensures Specialty Manufacturing Co. meets both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. The QA technicians support the activities required to meet quality standards and is responsible for maintaining the gage calibration system: monitoring, calibrating, coordinating third party calibrations, and gage maintenance.

Essential Job Function
  • Maintain accurate written and accurate records
  • Carry out basic quality functions.
  • Ensure conformance with the Specialty Manufacturing Co. Quality Management Systems.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports on materials, processes, and products.
  • Prioritizes and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Inspects and audits products and services.
  • Uses variable and attribute date and measuring instruments and techniques.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements

Education:
  • Required: High School diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Associate degree Quality Technician
Experience: 
  • Required: mechanical aptitude, detail-oriented mindset, and willingness to learn.
  • Preferred: direct training (ASQ CCT or PMEL) or two years of experience performing Quality Technician - Calibration activities.
Knowledge/Skills: 
  • Effective verbal and write communication skills.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and other basic quality management system requirements.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Blueprint reading, GD&T.
  • Self-starter, must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Preferred: CMM or Vision systems.
Physical Requirements:
  • Working on the shop floor in machining and manufacturing environment with a diversified work group.
  • Must be able to stand for up to two hours at a time.
  • Work must be performed on site during normal Specialty Manufacturing Co.’s business hours.
