Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for overseeing quality systems, processes, and protocols to ensure product safety and excellence. This role is pivotal in aligning business practices with industry standards and organizational goals through effective management of quality systems design, controls, and ongoing enhancements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the deployment and management of quality management systems, processes, and protocols to guarantee product safety and quality.
  • Supervise the Quality Assurance Team, including conducting staff performance reviews and facilitating career development opportunities.
  • Communicate and manage overall quality expectations, focusing on accurate scheduling, customer satisfaction, quality costs, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure the QA department meets its goals and objectives, including fulfilling commitments and coordinating the overall quality assurance timeline.
  • Maintain product consistency throughout the product lifecycle, including design, definition, and build phases, through quality checkpoints and testing.
  • Establish and oversee quality assurance metrics aimed at enhancing performance across all teams.
  • Develop and manage quality metrics for external supplier performance, site-specific manufacturing outcomes, and customer satisfaction feedback.
  • Implement continuous quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Plan and execute product testing efforts, managing all related resources to meet delivery timelines.
  • Provide clear communication regarding issues, objectives, continuous improvement efforts, and performance against plans.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to create project schedules and resource allocation models for QA-related projects and activities.
  • Establish and uphold policies for documentation control and record retention for all products.
  • Develop and manage compliance with regulatory standards for OEM and Fleet clients.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong analytical abilities and experience in the implementation and administration of Quality Assurance practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, interpersonal communication, and project management skills are essential.
  • Proven leadership capabilities that foster team confidence and respect while motivating team members effectively.
  • A commitment to achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process quality, and product reliability.
  • A solid understanding of various quality assurance processes and automated tools.
  • Experience in managing and collaborating with team members.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in documentation and communication is required.
  • Familiarity with ISO and OEM automotive quality compliance standards.
