The Quality Assurance Associate will provide basic support as an administrative resource to the laboratory and quality assurance departments. Enter and maintain food safety and quality control data into appropriate databases or systems in a timely manner for the purpose of providing key quality reports to management.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Enter and maintain data and information associated with laboratory and quality control testing

Enter and maintain regulatory, third-party and self-inspection reports and testing data

Assist in maintaining a variety of databases and reports (consumer complaint, customer requirements, QC exceptions, non-conformance, product label and packaging, )

Assist in preparing quality reports; generate and disseminate reports as scheduled or requested

Adhere to all DFA Quality and Safety policies and procedures and report any nonconformities

Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent

Post-secondary education related to food science, biological science, or related sciences preferred

0 to 1 year of quality systems, food safety, production, or related experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment

Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment such as SQF, HACCP and PCQI certifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Able to use Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems

Able to keep good records (record keeping skill)

Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail

Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing

Must be able to read, write and speak English
