Position Summary: Sprezzatura is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to play a key role in the Department of Veterans Affairs' Program Project Management Support Services (PPMSS). This individual will be responsible for analyzing system requirements and addressing any relevant problems. The Senior Systems Analyst will also perform standard testing and provide solutions to ensure high levels of performance and security. As a senior member of the team, this role will collaborate with IT and business staff to understand the system requirements and nuances, aiding in the effective design and implementation of IT solutions aligned with business goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and evaluate existing VA systems to identify inefficiencies and redundancies, and propose enhancements to improve system performance and reliability.
  2. Translate business requirements into system specifications and detailed test plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  3. Lead the design and review processes for new systems, including overseeing the selection of appropriate design solutions and ensuring the compatibility of system components.
  4. Coordinate with network engineers, software developers, and other IT staff to ensure effective integration of new systems and technologies.
  5. Develop and implement maintenance procedures for existing software applications and hardware systems, ensuring their ongoing efficiency and accuracy.
  6. Provide expert guidance and technical advice to the development team, assisting with problem-solving and decision-making.
  7. Create system documentation and architectural diagrams to support system understanding and training efforts.
  8. Conduct security audits and system backups to ensure data safety and integrity.
  9. Monitor system performance metrics and compile reports detailing system performance to inform necessary improvements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems analysis, IT or a related field, with proven expertise in managing complex IT projects.
  • Extensive experience with software and hardware systems, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Strong knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and operating systems, and the ability to handle complex analysis and advanced administrative tasks.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of leading project teams and working with cross-functional departments to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Certification such as Certified Systems Analyst (CSA) or similar is preferred.


Preferred Qualification:

  • Demonstrable experience with VA Enterprise systems and processes is essential, providing the necessary background to effectively engage and contribute from the outset.

 

Location: This is a hybrid position. Majority of time will be remote with the ability to provide onsite support in Washington, DC, as requested by the customer.
